Goal
Problem
“How might we make a seamless and quicker process for the consumer paying for their grocery?”
Goal
To make an interaction between the customers and Point of Sale (POS) screen as smooth as possible.
Find usability issues and their potential solutions
Gather comparative appeal quotient with the competitive stores screens, such as Walmart and Walgreens
Evaluate what is working; what needs improvement; what are the missing features
Understand the expectations and needs of the Customer from that interaction
Analyze the complete user experience, from selecting the shoppers club card to swiping/inserting a card
Identify the cues that convey quality of the product and interactions

Prototype
I made a HiFi prototype in Axure pro 8 with a complete workflow which is used by Wegmans for the demonstration to the management team.
It will also be used for the future reference.
See below one workflow of a user using his debit card for the payment.
